Job description

The Senior Data Product Engineer is a pivotal remote role that drives the innovation and sustainability of our data ecosystem. In this position, you'll architect, evaluate, and deploy sophisticated data products leveraging cutting-edge technologies including Python, Snowpark, SQL, and Snowflake. As a technical leader, you'll guide new team members through mentorship and targeted training while evaluating the viability of proposed data initiatives. Your exceptional coordination skills will bridge the gap between diverse stakeholders—from users and technical teams to application owners and corporate leadership—ensuring our data management strategy advances as a cohesive enterprise asset. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment and communicates effectively with customers across all technical proficiency levels.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and implement sophisticated financial models tailored to precise client specifications and strategic objectives
  • Develop and refine analytical methodologies that maximize contract profitability through data-driven optimization
  • Foster cross-departmental collaboration to ensure alignment on product vision, timelines, and critical milestones
  • Provide technical leadership in evaluating new product initiatives, identifying essential components for successful market deployment
  • Mentor and guide Data Product Engineers through strategic direction and knowledge transfer to achieve team objectives
  • Translate complex business requirements into efficient data pipeline architectures
  • Execute thorough peer code reviews, implement maintenance protocols, and drive continuous technical improvements
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to HIPAA compliance standards and company security policies across all data operations
  • Establish robust data validation frameworks to maintain exceptional data integrity and quality assurance
  • Optimize SQL performance and pipeline efficiency to minimize resource consumption and control infrastructure costs
  • Proactively identify process enhancement opportunities and champion their implementation across the team
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required to support organizational objectives

Required Skills / Experience:

  • 4 years Database SQL development (Snowflake preferred)
  • 2-4 years Python development experience
  • Ability to create highly complex SQL queries
  • 3 years ETL/ELT data integration experience preferred
  • Excellent knowledge creating and analyzing ETL and other data integrations
  • Knowledge of ER diagrams, data flow diagrams and normalization techniques
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Qlik, SAS, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
  • Experience in cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred)
  • Inquisitive and willing to learn business processes and new technologies
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in mentoring and leading other team members preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required

Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this role is $132,000 - $165,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also short-term incentive eligible. Incentive amounts will vary by individual and business goals.
