About the team:

The Breeze Intelligence Conversational Enrichment team is on a mission to transform unstructured data at HubSpot into game-changing insights. We focus on extracting valuable enrichment data from unstructured data like: emails, call transcripts, videos, and more, leveraging LLMs to solve high-priority data-extraction challenges at scale. If your idea of a good time is teaming up with an awesome group of caring folks to harness AI and extract valuable insights from unstructured data, you’ll fit right in.

About the role:

As a Technical Lead II, you’ll provide technical direction while remaining hands-on, spending around 70% of your time coding in Java. You’ll help design and build large, distributed systems that power our Conversational Enrichment product and collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and front-end developers to create magical AI-driven solutions.

Our services are built primarily in Java, using a lightweight Dropwizard framework for RESTful APIs. We rely on Kafka, Spark, and Hadoop for processing hefty volumes of data (the kind that would make your laptop weep). If you’re passionate about building customer-focused products and want to push the limits of what’s possible with AI, read on.

What we’re looking for:
  • You’ve led small teams of engineers and thrived in environments with autonomy and flexibility.
  • You can steer the direction of backend engineering, raising the bar for how we design, code, and deliver.
  • You have some previous experience as a team or technical lead (you’ve managed projects, taken responsibility for your team’s software design and delivery, and lived to tell the tale).
  • You love staying hands-on with code while guiding and mentoring fellow engineers.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, earning trust across cross-functional teams.
  • You’ve demonstrated rock-solid ownership on projects end-to-end and collaborated with multiple teams to roll out successful, innovative infrastructure.
  • You’re all about code reviews, coaching, and sharing knowledge.
  • You consistently deliver reliable, performant, and well-tested code (otherwise, what’s the point?).
  • You’re customer-obsessed and develop strong opinions about the HubSpot product—and how we can make it better.

Sound like your dream gig?

Join us in evolving Breeze Intelligence’s Conversational Enrichment efforts to new heights. We’re solving big problems for HubSpot using advanced AI and an industry-leading data pipeline. If that excites you, let’s chat.
