The impact you will make:

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Associate Director, Commercial Analytics to join our growing commercial team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission of helping the patient communities we serve. The Associate Director, Commercial Analytics will be responsible for leading business and competitive intelligence initiatives for the Agios portfolio. The candidate must have demonstrated abilities to integrate multiple secondary and primary data sources (including competitive intelligence), gain and leverage insights from cross-functional colleagues, and have an inquisitive mindset in order to develop meaningful and actionable insights for the business. It will be essential to have the ability to provide a holistic and clear perspective on national performance trends across KPIs, based on data trends, field intelligence and other sources. The role will also lead the competitive intelligence efforts for the portfolio and integrate these insights to inform strategy and execution.

What you will do:

  • Lead performance reporting initiatives that provide a comprehensive and integrated understanding of brand performance and customer insights; clearly communicate strategic implications and ideate on potential tactics to drive business
  • Continuously seek to better understand underlying business drivers through a methodical approach leveraging data analytics, field analytics, and other secondary / primary sources in collaboration with commercial team members and external partners
  • Independently develop pre-launch & post-launch reporting plan and metrics including dashboard creation to effectively monitor and report commercial KPIs to brand, commercial, and executive leadership
  • Drive competitive intelligence efforts to highlight key insights / implications and guide strategic marketing initiatives, clinical development, R&D strategies, and business development; apply innovative approaches to efficiently scale scope and impact
  • Act as an internal consultant to stakeholders across commercial analytics, commercial operations, commercial excellence, marketing, sales, market access, clinical, regulatory, finance, manufacturing, and other functions, to support strategic decision making

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or Life Sciences or equivalent experience; graduate degree a plus
  • 6+ years of direct experience in performance reporting, data analytics, competitive intelligence, and market research in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Prior launch experience required, including experience with pre-launch, launch, and post-launch performance reporting; demonstrated understanding of the key steps included building reports, conducting analytics, and integrating insights across sources
  • Experience leading competitive intelligence initiatives across a portfolio with the ability to succinctly communicate key insights and implications to different types of audiences; understanding of practical AI applications to competitive intelligence efforts
  • Inquisitive mindset continuously seeking to uncover underlying business drivers and novel insights; ability to proactively challenge internal assumptions and go beyond the "obvious" answer through rigorous application of logic
  • Proficient in transforming unstructured business issues / requests into actionable plans and simplifying complex concepts; demonstrated ability to independently solve difficult problems as well as ability to find creative solutions where needed
  • Have demonstrated ability to communicate with clarity, succinctness and confidence with executive-level colleagues
  • Ability to deliver value-added results that meet high quality requirements within tight deadlines and to manage third-party vendors effectively on time and within budget

Work Location:

Location Agnostic: Work location for this role is based on employee's individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite and hybrid employees are expected to live within commutable distance to our Cambridge Headquarters. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events/ meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate to the above job description.

  • Competitive and equitable performance-based compensation. This includes base salary and both short- and long-term incentives that are connected to our business strategy and vary based on individual and company performance.
    • The current base salary range for this position is expected to be between $149,069 and $223,604 annualized; final salary will be determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills and proficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
