Join Our Team  

You will be the Underwriter. You will report to the Global Head of Casualty Underwriting .

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the effective management of the reinsurance portfolio for both Property and Casualty exposure and develop strong underwriting acumen.
  • Analyze and evaluate risks; assist in the monitoring of performance of existing treaties and recommend adjustments, as needed.
  • Support the development of strategies to optimize portfolio profitability and prepare reports and presentations on portfolio performance for internal stake holders. 
  • Utilize knowledge of reinsuranceand insurance , regulations,  as well as, underwriting guidelines to make informed decisions.
  • Develop technical skills to enhance understanding of P&C treaty structures and pricing models.
  • Participate in client and broker meetings, industry events, and conferences to build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries.
  • Collaborate with intermediariesto understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of industry trends, market conditions, and client data to accurately assess risk.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Review and assess underwriting submissions, , financial statements, and other relevant documents.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, including claims and actuarial, to gather necessary information and ensure accurate risk assessment.
  • Remain up-to-date on industry developments and changes in regulations and policies.
  • Adhere to company underwriting standards and guidelines to ensure consistent and quality underwriting practices.
  • Utilize underwriting software and tools to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of underwriting decisions and documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and promote a positive team dynamic.
  • Expand professional network and industry knowledge; join industry associations and attend networking events to connect with peer and industry leaders.
  • Seek mentoship opportunities with the Organization to gain insights and guidance.

Your skills and abilities should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relative experience.
  • 1+ year of insurance underwriting experience.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented with a drive for success and the ability to collaborate effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

 

SALARY:  The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000 per yearr. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only.  In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
