Smallstep is seeking a Marketing Manager who will help execute on our Go To Market plan- shaping digital marketing campaigns, facilitating new business development strategies, developing content, and creating reports to analyze the success of each of these activities. We are looking for someone passionate about technology and cybersecurity, who can help us bring our product to our target market.
This role serves to drive growth for Smallstep by developing, implementing, tracking, and optimizing our content marketing campaigns across multiple channels to acquire and retain audiences/customers. The position requires a strong grasp of modern marketing strategies, including social media, and the ability to build integrated campaigns from concept to execution. The successful candidate will have experience launching and growing SaaS platforms, and feels comfortable speaking to a highly technical audience. They will have a strong understanding of, and experience with, martech such as Hubspot, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms. You will work cross-functionally with GTM leaders, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales teams to launch effective campaigns on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute on Go To Market strategy for Smallstep including digital marketing, analytics, webinars + virtual events, and partnerships/co-marketing campaigns
Identify appropriate channels to reach CISOs, IT and Operations professionals, and security engineers; coordinate PPC, creation of content and collateral, campaign execution and spend optimization
Develop data-driven, multi-channel marketing strategies to acquire and retain users for Smallstep including Email/SMS, Paid Social/Search, and SEO
Design performance reports and dashboards to influence strategy and demand planning, increase conversion metrics and optimize campaign performance
Manage and analyze campaign KPIs; CAC, ROAS, LTV, ROI, team sign-ups, & revenue attribution
Work with founder and executive team to engage with tech community via live or virtual events with the goal of identifying potential customer opportunities
Source and provide strategic oversight to agency partners
Work cross-functionally to develop product story-telling and engaging customer journey funnels across the Smallstep platform
Devise innovative ways to engage audiences, including establishing market intelligence, audience personas and digital user journeys
Liaison with the Design team to inform them of campaign performance and strategize on creative development with customer-centric direction;
Report to executives and key stakeholders on high level wins, challenges, and future plans strategies.
Utilize a data-driven approach to run marketing experiments and implement attribution models and reporting systems to support business decisions
Explore new channels and platforms to explore untapped opportunities
A successful candidate will have:
6+ years in digital marketing with hands on experience defining, leading, executing paid search/SEO, display, social, media campaigns
2+ years working in technology / SaaS marketing
Strong understanding of the sales and marketing funnel; proven success of growing an audience and understanding how to convert it into sales opportunities & revenue
Experience with delivering content across key digital platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Google, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube
Experience creating and distributing content of all types (blog, video, social, sales presentations, competitive, etc)
Work closely with technical teams to deliver on innovative narratives and campaigns for social media channels
You document everything and make it easy for others to find and take action against.
Knowledge of modern cloud architectures and popular development tools, platforms, and/or relevant frameworks a plus
Bonus points if technologies such as HTTPS/TLS, certificates (X.509), and OAuth are not foreign to you.
