Job Description
As the RTO Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and implementing compliance-related activities across the organization. Your core duties will include:
Monitoring compliance through training activity reviews and reporting requirements.
Conducting audits of assessments to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
Reviewing and updating policies and procedures related to RTO operations.
Leading the implementation of compliance projects focused on continuous improvement.
Preparing for and participating in ASQA and state-based quality audits.
Ensuring alignment with AQF and RTO Standards in day-to-day operations.
Overseeing data and reporting processes including:
AVETMISS reporting
Total VET Activity
Quality Indicator reporting
Competency Completion submissions
Supporting staff with compliance training and interpretation of standards.
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure readiness for audits and continuous alignment with compliance frameworks.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the RTO field.
Experience working for an Australian Client/Business is required.
Proven experience managing compliance within a Registered Training Organization.
Strong understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and RTO Standards.
Practical experience preparing for and participating in ASQA and state-based audits.
Knowledge of state training authority contractual requirements, particularly in Western Australia.

Quality Indicators
Competency Completion
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) – current version.
Diploma of Quality Auditing and/or Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Experience using VETtrak or other student management systems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lead projects and implement process improvements across teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
