Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and forward-thinking AU RTO Instructional Designer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced learning design professional to take ownership of training resource development across multiple RTOs. You'll leverage modern instructional design methodologies, AI-enhanced learning technologies, and SCORM-compliant e-learning tools to create engaging, effective, and fully compliant training resources. Job Description

As the Instructional Designer, you will play a key role in shaping and maintaining the quality of our training delivery. You will do:


Learning Design & Training Resource Development:
  • Design, validate, and maintain training and assessment materials aligned with national training package requirements.
  • Develop SCORM-compliant e-learning content for blended and online delivery.
  • Integrate AI-driven learning tools (e.g., adaptive assessments, automation) to enhance online learning.
  • Ensure training materials meet ASQA, CRICOS, ESOS, and SRTO 2015 compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with trainers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to enhance course content and assessments.
  • Conduct staff training on instructional design best practices and the use of AI in learning.
  • Support audit-related updates and amendments to ensure full compliance.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve training resources and learner engagement.
  • Stay current with instructional technologies, regulatory changes, and best practices through PD and industry research.
General Duties:
  • Represent the company's mission and values in all professional interactions
  • Collaborate effectively in both in-person and virtual team environments.
Remote Work Expectations:
  • Self-manage tasks and deadlines in a remote/hybrid setup.
  • Use collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Drive effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of communication, data security, and compliance reporting.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as an Instructional Designer under a Registered Training Organization in Australia.
  • Experience working for an Australian Client/Business is required.
  • Strong knowledge of learning design, resource validation, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience developing SCORM-compliant digital content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and e-learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas).
  • Experience with instructional design tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple design projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
  • Preferred Qualifications & Tools Experience
    • Experience using student management systems (preferably Wisenet).
    • Familiarity with document management systems (preferably Novacore).
    • Knowledge of story-boarding and structured content development.
    • Background in audit preparation and training compliance reporting.
    • Exposure to AI-driven or adaptive learning technologies.
    • Experience with public facilitation or training delivery.
