InfluxData is looking for an experienced and talented leader of product marketing to join our rapidly growing marketing team. This is a high-impact, results-oriented role, where you will work in a collaborative team setting to conceive and execute go-to-market plans for our product lines. The Senior Director of Product Marketing will work directly with Sales, Product Management, and Marketing to take new products to market and develop messaging and campaigns that drive acquisition and expansion.

The ideal Senior Director of Product Marketing knows how to market developer and technical centric products and has experience with open source and infrastructure products, as well as having a deep understanding of complex, enterprise sales and buyer journeys. They’re proficient in translating technical features into clear and concise benefits, and will have a deep understanding of IT personas and industry trends and how to position value that aligns to individual pain points.

What you’ll be doing

  • Create the marketing plan for our next product release including pricing, positioning, go-to-market, and sales enablement information.

  • Acquire deep customer knowledge through market research, customer interviews / surveys and segmentation analysis

  • Create and execute on Go-to-market strategies to drive InfluxData's revenue goals

  • Develop customer pain point based messages, that differentiate InfluxData against competitors

  • Create the content to support lead generation campaigns and establish InfluxData and InfluxData's customers as thought leaders

  • Identify promising solutions based on existing products and drive direct sales campaigns

  • Create the internal and external facing sales kit to reach mid market and enterprise customers with a consistent and resonating message

  • Enable existing and new field resources on how to effectively position and sell InfluxData services

  • Successfully launch new services to customers, partners and the InfluxData field

  • Manage and develop a product marketing manager, including setting goals, providing feedback, and fostering career growth while ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives

What you bring to the table:

  • 15+ years of product marketing experience in the software industry

  • Product marketing experience in databases, monitoring, observability or IoT

  • Expert in B2B purchasing cycles as well as the developer community

  • Proven track record in developing highly effective sales presentations and collateral

  • You've run or played a key role in a product launch before

  • You've interviewed customers and documented how the product has delivered benefit

  • You are skilled at collaborating with product management, engineering and customers to come up with great ideas for content

Bonus points if you have…

  • Hands-on development experience

  • Experience with Kubernetes and/or cloud providers, like AWS, Azure or GCP
