Job description

Corcept is leading the way in the research and development of cortisol modulators, molecules that regulate cortisol activity at the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). To date, we have discovered more than 1,000 selective proprietary cortisol modulators.

In 2012, we received FDA approval of Korlym® (mifepristone), the first approved treatment for hypercortisolism (Cushing’s syndrome).

Today, our team and collaborators continue to unlock the possibilities of cortisol modulation as a way to treat serious diseases. With more than 30 ongoing studies across a wide range of disease areas, including endocrinology, oncology, metabolism, and neurology, we remain dedicated to advancing the possibilities of cortisol modulation.

What began as a ripple of scientific truth is now poised to unleash a sea change of discovery representing a fundamental shift in the way we understand and treat disease.

The Key Accounts Manager will be responsible for developing and executing an ethical strategy to drive disease awareness and enhance partnerships between Corcept and pre-specified tertiary centers specializing in the management of cardio-metabolic diseases and/or hypercortisolism/Cushing syndrome (CS). Target physicians within these accounts would include but are not limited to, endocrinologists, neurosurgeons, endocrine surgeons, and interventional radiologists. Other key staff involved with the management and care of patients suffering from CS within these institutions would also constitute targets for further disease education.

  • Develop and execute an ethical individualized strategy to drive market development/disease awareness for key tertiary centers
  • Always lead with a patient-focused approach aligned to current CS guidelines and approved supporting data
  • Educate target physicians within key tertiary centers on the latest data and developments in the field of hypercortisolism
  • Regularly attend Endocrinology grand rounds sessions, conferences, and other relevant meetings
  • Partner with Endocrinology fellowship programs to establish advocates as new Endocrinologists enter clinical practice
  • Bridge the gaps in communication regarding the broad spectrum of CS amongst various target physician specialties within key tertiary centers
  • Identify current and future institutional key opinion leaders (KOLs) within the cardiometabolic, surgical, radiological, and other related disease spaces
  • Function as liaison and collaborator within key tertiary centers and for KOLS in prespecified territory
  • Collaborate with sales counterparts and appropriate internal stakeholders to drive market growth/development
  • Operate within compliance guidelines at all times

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

  • Experience working in tertiary centers with a specialty in endocrinology, orphan disease or other specialized markets
  • Experience working with regional- and national-level KOLs
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills including written, oral & presentation capabilities
  • Strong clinical acumen
  • Demonstrated patient-focused mindset and approach
  • Required to travel by car and plane at least 80% of the time
  • Must maintain a driving record in accordance with Corcept vehicle policy

Preferred Education and Experience:
