Job description

Hi, we’re Underdog!

We’re the fastest-growing sports gaming company ever.

We build innovative games and products for American sports fans.

Founded in 2020, our team built four of today’s most widely played fantasy games and recently launched our Underdog Sportsbook. We are the only sportsbook to ever launch on our own home grown technology, which allows us to build different and innovative experiences. We believe there’s so much more to be built for sports fans, and we’ll continue to win by building the best products and experiences for our customers.

The opportunity in front of us to become the biggest company in our space is massive; after all, we’re currently sitting in the fastest-growing consumer industry in the U.S. In just over two years, we reached a nearly $500 million valuation through some of the best investors in the game, including Mark Cuban, Kevin Durant, BlackRock, and SV Angel. We are many times larger now and our growth is not slowing down.

At Underdog, we believe that sports are for everyone and are building a tomorrow for every fan. Want to help create that future? Join us.

About the role and why it’s unique:

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a dual role in triage management and QA engineering, ensuring a high-quality user experience and faster issue resolution. You will establish a structured bug triage process while also contributing to test planning, automation, and release validation across key product domains. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and want to shape the future of sports gaming QA, this role is for you!

  • Drive continuous improvements in QA processes that include feature test planning, regression testing, and overall test coverage.
  • Own release testing for iOS and Android managing risk assessments and triage workflows for our weekly releases.
  • Establish a structured triage process to quickly identify, prioritize, and resolve bugs and incidents, minimizing user impact. This involves being part of on-call hours and live game support.
  • Improve visibility into test health and coverage across the organization.
  • Implement automated bug reporting tools and monitoring integrations to enhance test planning, and defect analysis.
  • Mentor and coach development teams on best QA practices, fostering a culture of quality ownership.
Who you are:
  • 5+ years of experience in QA engineering, with expertise in test strategy, test planning, and bug triage.
  • Highly focused on delivering results for internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience with TestRail or similar test suite/case management tools.
  • Proven ability to lead release testing efforts and manage complex test environments interfacing with multiple teams.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor development teams on best testing practices.
  • Experience working with offshore QA teams and coordinating large-scale regression testing.
  • Expertise in modern testing methodologies and troubleshooting tools like Crashlytics, DataDog, and Proxyman.
  • Hands-on experience in testing APIs, web services, and understanding data flow between front-end and back-end systems
Even better if you have:
  • Experience in working on multiple projects at once.
  • Familiarity with Native mobile automation using XCUITest, XcodeCloud, Android Studio, Jetpack Compose.
  • Basic knowledge of major sports (NFL, MLB, NBA) and how they are played.
  • Familiarity with daily fantasy sports and/or sports betting.
