Job description

Vermont State University Online seeks an adjunct instructor to teach a 3-credit Business course during the Fall 2025 semester between 8/25/2025-10/12/2025. The course will be taught 100% online using Canvas.

POSITION: Part-time, Adjunct Instructor

RESPONSIBILITIES: VTSU Online uses Canvas and provides a generic course template for all courses. The instructor is responsible for adding outcomes, academic materials, discussion and assignment that support the course description. Additionally, VTSU Online instructors are obligated to adhere to the VTSU Online Standards that address instructor presence, student engagement, instructor expectations, and assessment of student work.

Course description:

In this course, the student learns techniques for improving the flexibility and originality of their thinking and explores approaches used by managers and organizations to create and sustain high levels of innovation. Topics include personal thinking preferences; everyday creativity and eliminating mental blocks; creative thinking techniques; idea selection approaches; teaming techniques for creativity; conditions that promote creativity; design for interaction; disruptive technologies; and intellectual property.

Qualifications:

For consideration, candidates must possess at least a master's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience. Experience in online teaching is essential, and familiarity with Canvas desired. Experience in teaching adult learners is required.
