Purchasing and Shipping Agent- Sign Shop

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Purchasing / Shipping Agent is responsible for ordering materials for our fabrication shop and creating shipping documents for completed projects. This role involves scheduling shipments and working closely with key stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Order materials and supplies for the fabrication shop, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
• Create and manage shipping documents for completed projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
• Schedule shipments and coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
• Oversees products are packaged appropriately for the specific shipping method and to take/save photos of each item for the logistic folders.
• Collaborate with , production team members, and other stakeholders to ensure that project timelines and deadlines are met.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, shipments, and inventory levels.
• Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies related to purchasing and shipping.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required:    High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred Degree:  Bachelor's Degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
• Years of experience:  2+ years of experience in purchasing, shipping, or logistics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with purchasing and inventory management software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly does computer work, and lifts up to 50 lbs.

Occasionally walks, sits, and stands.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
