Job description

Lead Optometry growth, P&L, operations, and business performance to deliver on mission, vision, and strategic objectives and goals. Responsible for the teams, planning, processes, systems, and laboratory to grow and support day-to-day operations of Optometry locations.

Develop business strategies to increase performance of Optometry locations


Responsible for Optometry business P&L and KPI performance in alignment with VSP Vision enterprise financial and business goals

Lead, develop, and direct the clinical and field management team in the execution of sales, services, clinical and retail activities and processes

Oversees and directs operational activities impacting retail, clinical, and labor operations, and laboratory to help deliver brand experience across locations

Lead integration planning and execution in partnership with VSP integration team and shared services leadership

Lead the team’s ongoing execution of work streams supporting the strategic objectives and goals

Direct, define, and implement systems and procedures across the division to position the business to execute

Participate in and oversee the preparation of the operating and capital budgets and reforecasts in coordination with Finance and the VSP executive team

Cultivate a customer-centric operations culture.  Ensure the customer’s experience is constantly evolving and drive a proper balance between customer needs and business priorities

Establish and enforce policies to ensure personnel development, accountability, and positive working relationships among departments and clinical teams

Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory guidelines

Oversee the develop the systems, processes and organization structure needed to effectively scale operations to support rapid growth

Ensure effective communications are maintained within VSP Global and externally.  Where appropriate, inform employees as to plans and progress. Conduct employee discussion sessions at regular intervals

Monitor the performance of direct reports, provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling and conduct performance reviews.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience

Ten years of experience with clear progression to senior leadership/management roles, leading and motivating cross-functional interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic goals

Participated in acquisitions and integration of those acquisitions  

Experience managing business operations

Previous optical experience with an emphasis on both the clinical and optical components of the business

Extensive knowledge of retail supply chain management 

Extensive knowledge of revenue cycle management   

Experience in inventory management, demand planning, and supply chain management

Experience with Optical Laboratory   

Extensive experience paving the way to enable and support growth in the company

                

Experience defining and rolling out systems, processes, and organizational design.

Experience in both large and small organizations. 

Startup experience preferred (or a startup division within larger enterprise)

Clean credit history as reported by credit report
