The Backend Software Developer will be attentive to details and have good leadership skills. They are able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that encourages agility. They readily adapt to evolving priorities and embrace unexpected challenges with enthusiasm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a software developer. They will be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual, able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Additionally, they will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

What you will do

As a Backend Software Developer, your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Analyze, design, and implement features.
• Develop Microservice Oriented Architecture & build reusable components.
• Write well-designed and efficient code, which can be tested & perform units and/or integrated tests.
• Analyze performance and reliability to ensure that data is moving fast and accurately.
• Perform identification of code metrics and necessary analysis (code, requirements, system risk, and software reliability).
• Correct anomalies and problems as they arise.
• Test the implemented features to make sure all acceptance criteria are met
• Review code and provide guidance to other engineers to ensure that software is developed with maintainability, performance and security in mind.
• Participate in projects from the initial idea to launch.
• Advise the product owner on technological choices and decisions concerning developments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development activities (agility, automated tests, deployment, etc.).
• Review the security/reliability implications of software design decisions.
• Collaborate with the security team to integrate security best practices into software development processes.
• Communicate risks associated to any activity, technology or processes as you identify them
• Participate in incident response activities and work with the infrastructure and security teams to investigate and remediate incidents.

What your resume shows

Must Haves

• 3+ years of experience in Microservices development with Kotlin or Java, Springboot
• Familiar with Agile Development

Nice to Haves

• 1+ year experience with GraphQL, Rest
• Preference is for candidates resident in Quebec
• Experience working in a Startup environment
• Cloud (AWS or Azure) experience
• Experience with Cybersecurity
• Bi-lingual in English and French
