Job description

About Flare:

Flare is a dynamic cybersecurity Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Threat Intelligence company on a mission to empower organizations to protect their data, customers, employees, and brand by shining a light on external threats. Our platform continuously identifies high-risk exposures across cybercrime communities and the clear web, enabling companies to stay ahead of evolving cyber risks.

TL;DR: We’re a team of cybersecurity professionals (and nerds) helping clients defend their networks and data by locating and addressing cyber threats.

Job Summary

As an Identity Security Expert at Flare, you’ll be our in-house expert on identity threats, identity and access management (IAM) security, and authentication risks—helping organizations quickly respond to identity-related incidents before they escalate. You’ll play a key role in educating customers, influencing product development, and shaping how Flare integrates with IAM tools to help security teams take action faster.

This role is a unique mix of technical expertise, business acumen, and strategic vision—ideal for someone who understands how identity security fits into a broader cybersecurity strategy and wants to make a real impact. You’ll work closely with our product, sales, and marketing teams to ensure customers can seamlessly integrate Flare into their identity security workflows.

*This role is Remote or Hybrid from Canada / US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Education and Advocacy – Educate security teams on identity threats, how attackers exploit IAM weaknesses, leaked credentials, and sessions. Demonstrate how Flare helps organizations automate the remediation of identity security exposures.
  • Product Influence – Act as a core identity advisor within the product team, helping shape how Flare integrates with IAM, IdP, and security platforms to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Strategic Technical Partnerships – Manage relationships with identity security vendors, ensuring Flare’s approach aligns with industry needs and best practices.
  • Customer Engagement – Collaborate with sales and marketing to communicate why identity security matters through customer discussions, webinars, trainings blog posts, and industry events.
  • Technical Insight – Work with engineering to provide expertise on identity security products, APIs, and integration strategies to ensure Flare’s solutions are practical, scalable, and effective.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience in identity security, IAM, or IdPs—whether in consulting, services, or product roles.
  • Able to see both the big picture and the technical details of identity security.
  • Deep experience with major identity platforms, such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Ping Identity, Google Workspace, CyberArk, etc...
  • Proven ability to automate identity security workflows, such as credential resets, session revocations, privilege audits, and access policy enforcement.
  • Proficiency in scripting and API automation, ideally using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Terraform to integrate with IAM/IdP tools.
  • Strong communication and strategic thinking skills – able to engage security teams, engineers, and leadership on identity security strategy.
  • A passion for identity security and a drive to build solutions that don’t just detect threats, but stop them
