About Midnight:

IOG's Midnight Tribe is a business technology provider and core contributor to the Midnight Network, a blockchain platform for developing decentralized applications that safeguard personal and commercial data. The Midnight Network is the first blockchain to offer programmable data isolation by leveraging zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to enable selective disclosure of what information is visible on-chain and is designed to help developers implement necessary business policies, such as meeting regulatory requirements.

What the role involves:

We are seeking an experienced, customer service focussed and highly skilled Senior Systems Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting complex systems issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with various departments and third party vendors to resolve technical problems, implement system upgrades, and optimize performance. The ideal candidate will have a security first mindset and possess a strong background in systems administration, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues. A deep understanding of industry standard corporate technology applications platforms and tools and security best practices is essential. This is a critical role that requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to support our organization's technology needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working directly with the Head of IT in a small team, be the first point of contact and the face of IT to the business.
  • Work with the Head of IT to build out the ITSM platform and implement an ITIL driven IT Support Service.
  • Provide end user support across the portfolio of applications and services in the IT Service Catalog.
  • Be proactive in the management of our business critical systems by ensuring tight alignment with vendor best practice leveraging a security first mindset.
  • Partner with each area of the business to understand longer term needs and assist with projects as needed.
  • Work with cutting edge tools, systems and platforms to support an exciting and growing business in a thriving web3 ecosystem.
  • Be a key participant, contributor and champion of IT security initiatives across the portfolio of applications and services.
  • Contribute from the very start to Enterprise Architecture design.
  • Work directly with the Head of IT on developing and executing longer term IT vision and strategy.

Requirements

Who you are:

  • A security first, customer experience obsessed systems and support expert.
  • A proactive and motivated self starter, comfortable working in a fast paced environment with multiple streams of activity and responsibility.
  • Well versed in all aspects of building and running a Google Workspace environment.
  • Familiar with logging, auditing and proactive incident response concepts.
  • Adept at managing IDP, SSO, EDR and MDM platforms.
  • A charismatic and concise communicator both internally and with external third parties as needed.
  • Have a keen eye for detail across all aspects of software and hardware lifecycle management.
  • You understand, appreciate, implement and execute the key components of ITIL.
  • Experience supporting macOS, Linux and Windows end user devices.
  • Aware of environments governed by security controls and resultant standard operating procedures. How to create them and how to construct runbooks for business critical workflows and processes.
  • Experienced managing:
    • Document management tools.
    • Issue tracking systems.
    • Code repositories.
    • Collaboration and communication tools.
    • Cloud infrastructure environments.
    • And so on.
  • Any industry standard certification is desirable but not essential:
    • ITIL Foundation / Atlassian / Network+ / Security+ / AD / InTune / JAMF / JumpCloud / AWS / Google / GCP / Azure / CrowdStrike  etc.
