As a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, you will be at the front of the Virtual Clinic practice, supporting patients and physicians to ensure a premium patient experience. In this full-time position, you will report to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations.
Responsibilities
Engage patients by phone, text or video to: Remind patients to complete data entry as needed and collect medical record data; Respond to patients for minor technical troubleshooting, etc.
Complete the Prior Authorization Process from beginning to end.
Internal and external processing and documentation of Patient Referrals.
Communicate with doctors and dietitians so that they are prepared for all appointments
Transfer information to and within the Electronic Health Record (Athenahealth)
Process proposals for medication refill authorization using the digital refill authorization platform and forwards proposals to the provider for signature, under supervision of the Gennev provider team.
Participate in process improvement meetings and team meetings to help achieve efficient workflows.
Contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adhere to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma required, 2+ years of college preferred
Completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program, such as the American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Health Career Association (NHA) or MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
3+ years Medical Assistant Experience
LPN/LVN, Nursing Student training helpful
5+ years customer service experience required
EHR experience required, preferably Athenahealth
Video conferencing (e.g. Teams, Zoom) experience preferred
Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft software including Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
