What You’ll Do
An Experiential Fleet Operations Technician Tier 4 is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of Google's experiential fleet. Key responsibilities include proactive maintenance, issue resolution, system administration, validation tasks, and deployments. This role requires a strong technical background, including proficiency in Linux systems, scripting, and network protocols. Additionally, the technician must be able to manage various fleet management tools, hardware, and software. They will also need to effectively coordinate with partner services and field teams to provide global support.
Beyond technical skills, the technician must be able to effectively work on project tasks, triage issues, and document processes. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a knowledge base to support fleet operations. The role requires flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed to address urgent issues and support special projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Proactively maintains the effectiveness and reliability of the fleet
- Manage and execute proactive Fleet related projects
- Specializations in:
- Google proprietary solutions and implementations.
- Google network infrastructure.
- General IT and high performance media on networks.
- Management of Google Cloud platform services.
- Configuring fleet standard.
- Monitoring stability of deployment infrastructure.
- Platform and system administration.
- Validation testing for newer activation releases.
- Operating remotely and independently from the geographic locations of the fleet and can conduct operations through partner tier 2 services, dispatched field services, or other reasonably capable third parties.
- The exception being sufficient presence within commuting distance of designated Google AV labs as designated in the work order(s) to conduct validation testing.

- Ensure the completion of planned work and escalated issues within the SLA, including:
- Proactive fleet maintenance projects, consulting or partnering with other Google teams or SMEs as required.
- Perform root cause analysis, on any escalation support conducted.
- Reporting impact or projected impact to team lead.
- Reporting recommendations for hardware and software replacement, testing (e.g. soak, regression, acceptance testing), and recertification.
- Document all issue management.
- Support experiential site operations as needed with projects and setup of various event or show elements as needed.
- Development and maintenance of a knowledgebase for Experiential Fleet.

Qualifications and Skills: Must Haves:
- High proficiency with Linux operating based systems.
- Bash scripting experience

- Experience with internet of things (IOT) devices or sensor devices (such as temperature, humidity and occupancy sensors).
- Experience with Raspberry Pi computers, including installation, configuration and maintenance of both hardware and software.
- Experience with Powershell for Windows fleet rollouts.
- Experience with scripting and automation of start and end processes.
- Experience with complex network settings for audio/video such as VLAN, QoS, IGMP Snooping.
- Experience with LED video walls, including installation, configuration and maintenance of both hardware and software.
- Experience with Yamaha audio consoles, including installation, configuration and maintenance of both hardware and software.
- Experience with QSC including installation, configuration and maintenance of both hardware and software.
- Experience with Ross video switchers and Ross Dashboard software including installation, configuration and maintenance of both hardware and software.
- Experience with corporate and event lighting systems such as ETC products including installation, configuration and maintenance of both hardware and software.
- Knowledge of advanced signal flow for audio, video and control.
- Able to read and write line diagrams in technical design documents.
- Advanced PC troubleshooting expertise.
- Must be flexible to work after hours and weekends when required.
