Description

We seek a talented Backend Developer with a strong proficiency in backend web application development to join our dynamic team. You will work closely with our design, product, and development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient solutions. The role also involves collaborating with our existing Hawaii team, including PM, BA, QA, and current frontend and backend developers. We plan to scale our team in the next 30 days.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain scalable, efficient, and high-quality backend applications.
Collaborate with frontend developers, project managers, and the existing Hawaii team to deliver seamless and reliable user experiences.
Work closely with an existing frontend and backend team and contribute to scaling efforts.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Optimize applications for performance, security, and scalability.
Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend logic.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Troubleshoot and debug issues, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications are always cutting-edge.

Requirements

5+ years of proven experience as a Backend Developer, preferably in Laravel API.
5+ years in Agile software development.
5+ years in API-driven development.
Experience working with ETL Pipelines.
Familiarity with Availability Management (Bookings - Hotels, Tours, Activities).
OTA experience is a must or experience with integrating third-party services such as FareHarbor, Klook.com, Agoda.com, Trip.com, Amadeus, Booking.com, and Airbnb.
Database experience with MySQL.
Open to adopting additional technologies that solve business challenges efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Project Assistant is open to exploring alternative tech stacks as long as they effectively address the current project challenges.
