Back-End Developer - Python - Remote (m/f/d) - Europe Based

Locoia is looking for a Backend Engineer to join the Engineering team.

Aufgaben

In the role you will be maintaining the existing codebase, fixing bugs, implementing new features, working on scalability problems, and participating in designing implementations of change requests.

Our backend tech stack is: python, flask, sqlalchemy, postgres, AWS, docker, kubernetes.

Our frontend tech stack is: javascript, vue 3, element-ui, AWS.

• Maintain the existing codebase, fix bugs, implement new features, participate in and design implementations of change requests
• Report directly to our Head of Engineering
• Be responsible for delivering changes with high quality and stability
• Play an important role in automated testing
• Troubleshoot problems in our users experience
• Provide technical expertise to improve the project from various angles
• Improve existing and write new internal documentation about technical and architectural details of the project
• Review merge requests of your teammates
• Be able, if you want to, to work as a full-stack developer, solving tasks on the frontend side and/or on the infrastructure side as well
• Make recommendations on cloud architecture and the infrastructure platform supporting the tech stack
• Tune production configurations for performance, cost, and scalability
  
  

Profil

• Proven experience developing various software products, mainly web focused
• Proven experience working with docker containers
• Experience with supporting production environments, including exposure to monitoring and alerting
• Comfortable with most common AWS services
• Knowledge of development processes and task tracking (e.g. Jira, Trello, gitlab issues, etc.)
• Experience with Python, flask, and sqlalchemy and some other programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, go, etc.
• Experience with postgres database
• Experience with performance optimizations: finding weak spots, ensuring they are the weak spots, investigating possible optimizations (e.g. understanding explain analyze output, how to profile Python code)
• Ability to reproduce, debug, and fix reported problems in a timely manner
• Good English communication skills, ability to clearly express and communicate (verbally and in writing) thoughts, ideas, suggestions, and designs
