The Role 

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager, Talent Assessment to play a pivotal role in advancing our assessment and talent matching capabilities. This individual will lead the development and integration of behavioral methodologies into our assessment process, our Qualified product and our matching algorithms. By understanding workplace culture and dynamics, they will help Andela refine how we assess talent and make highly relevant matches to client environments and jobs. 

As the subject matter expert on behavioral science, you will work closely with product managers and cross-functional teams to design, build, and continuously improve behavioral assessments, ensuring they align with both client and talent needs. This role combines strategic input with hands-on content creation and product innovation, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will also work closely with our operational teams on building a comprehensive roadmap of assessments. 

Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Develop and own Andela’s behavioral assessment strategy, ensuring alignment with our talent matching and hiring goals. 

  • Architect methodologies to assess and predict talent compatibility with client workplace cultures and dynamics. 

  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to integrate behavioral insights and assessment methodologies into Andela’s core products. 

Product Development & Collaboration 

  • Own and refine the roadmap for Qualified, Andela’s assessment platform. 

  • Influence and refine the roadmap and data requirements for our match recommendation systems. 

  • Define and validate frameworks for evaluating behavioral competencies, culture alignment, and work style preferences. 

  • Design scalable tools and platforms to operationalize behavioral assessments and data-driven recommendations. 

Assessment Development 

  • Build, test, and iterate on behavioral assessment content, ensuring validity, reliability, and fairness. 

  • Collaborate with instructional designers, industrial psychologists, and domain experts to refine content and methodology. 

  • Analyze data from assessments to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in our processes and inform the build of our Assessments roadmap. 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Master’s or PhD in Behavioral Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field. 

  • 5+ years of experience in behavioral assessment design or related areas, with a focus on workplace or hiring applications. 

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on workplace or hiring applications. 

  • Demonstrated experience integrating behavioral frameworks into digital platforms or tools. 

  • Strong knowledge of psychometric principles, including validation, reliability, and bias mitigation. 

  • Experience building technical assessments, assessment processes, and utilizing leading platforms and tools to do so. 

  • Proven experience shipping successful products to market. 

  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities, with proficiency in analyzing assessment or survey results; and ability to construct analyses and come to data-informed conclusions. 

  • Exceptional communication skills to convey complex behavioral insights to diverse stakeholders. 

Nice-to-Have Skills 

  • Experience with talent marketplaces or staffing/hiring platforms. 

  • Experience with programming concepts and engineering culture. 

  • Experience with Data Science. 

  • Knowledge of culture fit/misfit theories and frameworks, and their application in hiring contexts.

Pay Range
$185,000 - $200,000
