As such, the Company is committed to Supplier Engagement & Resiliency which provides small businesses with an opportunity to bid on and participate in contracting with Cencora that ensures a broad supplier base is established to support our customers. Under the general supervision of the VP – Strategy and Solutions, the Director, Supplier Engagement & Resiliency, will be responsible for the strategic development, including stakeholder engagement and capacity building, and oversight of the Supplier Engagement & Resiliency Program at Cencora in partnership with the Global Sourcing (direct and indirect), Health Systems & Government Services, Corporate Responsibility, and Sales teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and lead the implementation of our Supplier Engagement & Resiliency strategy in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Health Systems & Government Services team on public sector subcontracting needs to ensure compliance to contracts.  
  • Expand Cencora’s Supplier Engagement & Resiliency program globally for targeted markets.
  • Facilitate internal and external Supplier Engagement & Resiliency Council meetings and actions.
  • Manage efforts to communicate our strategy, benchmark the program, and generally increase awareness on the importance of our Supplier Engagement & Resiliency program.
  • Manage and become seen as Cencora’s face of Supplier Engagement & Resiliency by external parties and external Supplier Engagement & Resiliency or similar councils, ensuring the relationships are fostered, maintained and positively impacted in line with our overall goals.
  • Guide and lead data strategy with internal and external stakeholders to enhance adoption and standardization of program framework.
  • Develop and utilize metrics to measure performance against goals
  • Partner with Cencora Leaders to promote and streamline activities around Supplier Engagement & Resiliency
  • Support internal stakeholders on monthly, quarterly and annual customer and governmental reporting activities measuring Supplier Engagement & Resiliency tier 1 and tier 2 spend
  • Identify aspects of Cencora direct and indirect sourcing processes that might be barriers of entry for small business suppliers.
  • The Director will collaborate with end user and sourcing managers to increase participation of small business suppliers during RFIs, RFPs, direct negotiation and other procurement opportunities.
  • Assess and improve current practices to register and verify certification of suppliers in partnership with Sourcing analysts.
  • Represent and position Cencora favorably with suppliers and act as an advocate for Cencora interests relative to suppliers' actions and policies.
  • Support efforts to build and maintain supplier partnerships and relationships, resolve issues, conflicts and cultural differences, and implement B2B solutions as needed.
  • Should become knowledgeable and able to advocate sourcing practices and methodologies related to the acquisition of goods and services
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Third Party Risk Management, Finance, Legal, Indirect Procurement, Operations, etc. in order to ensure the best interests of Cencora are met.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
     

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONALREQUIREMENTS:

Requires experience or training in fields such as business administration, stakeholder engagement, sales, marketing, supply chain / procurement, finance or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects of various  scope in a cross-functional environment
  • Develops a strong network of small business suppliers to engage, develop and introduce into the Cencora supplier network
  • Models behavior and language that reflects Cencora’s commitment to an inclusive and engaged workforce
  • Demonstrates courage of convictions and willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to deal with confrontational issues in a positive manner Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal stakeholders Excellent business acumen
  • Sound computer skills to operate effectively with company systems and programs; Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office Programs
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to apply the appropriate tools and level of analysis to specific situations

Salary Range*

$121,000 - 186,230

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
