As part of our expanding operations, we seek a skilled Portuguese-Speaking Accountant to join our team and provide financial expertise while supporting our Portuguese-speaking clients and regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Accounting:
    • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.
    • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
    • Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss accounts.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable:
    • Oversee invoicing, payments, and collections processes.
    • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Handle tax filings and compliance for Portuguese-speaking regions, adhering to local laws and regulations.
    • Liaise with tax authorities and ensure timely submissions.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate financial reports and forecasts to support decision-making.
    • Conduct variance analysis to track and improve financial performance.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including property managers, to align financial strategies.
    • Support Portuguese-speaking clients and stakeholders, addressing their accounting inquiries effectively.

Requirements
  • Education and Certification:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within property management or real estate sectors.
    • Proficiency in handling multi-currency transactions and international financial standards (e.g., IFRS).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or Xero).
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Language Skills:
    • Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
    • Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-driven.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills in a multicultural environment.
