Job Title: Financial Analyst (Journeyman)

Location: Local to DMV, remote (Customer in Ballston/Arlington, VA)

Clearance: Minimum SECRET, Maximum TS (We will facilitate TS clearance if hired)



Position Overview:

BizFirst is supporting our client in their search for a full-time, permanent Financial Analyst (Journeyman) to provide Tier One financial help desk assistance to technical offices for fiscal, budgetary, and procurement matters. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting financial system issues and providing Comptroller guidance, particularly in relation to budgetary and execution concerns.


Our client is a specialized management consulting firm that engages experienced professionals and consultants to support the federal government with strategic project execution, financial process optimization, advanced IT solutions, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation. Through innovative transformations, they develop and implement strategies to optimize operations for military departments and agencies across the U.S. Federal Government.

 

What You Will Do:

As a Financial Analyst (Journeyman), you will support technical offices by resolving fiscal, budgetary, and procurement issues. You will assist with managing financial transactions, such as unmatched disbursements and problem payments, and provide Comptroller guidance when needed. Using the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) financial system, you will manage and report financial data while ensuring compliance with DoD regulations. Your contributions will improve financial processes, enhance execution, and directly impact the team's efficiency and accuracy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier One financial help desk support to technical offices for fiscal, budgetary, and procurement matters.
  • Offer Comptroller guidance for financial questions and direct technical office contractors or government personnel to correct Points of Contact (POC).
  • Assist in resolving budgetary, execution, or financial system-related issues.
  • Share past experiences or examples to help troubleshoot and resolve similar issues.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial and procurement policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis or support roles, including budgetary and execution tasks.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems, database maintenance, and reporting tools.
  • Strong proficiency with the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) financial system, including experience in financial reporting and data management within DAI.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work with various levels of personnel.
  • Proven ability to anticipate, project, and plan for financial challenges.
  • At least 5 years of specialized experience in financial services, including knowledge of accounting principles and DoD financial policies.
  • Experience in preparing financial documents in compliance with DoD Financial Management Regulations (FMR).


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
