As the Senior Manager, Public Relations, you will support our company and brand goals by developing and implementing communications plans that enhance our company’s image and reputation, engage our external stakeholders, and effectively communicate how our award-winning culture sits at the center of all we do. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of external public relations, from strategy development to media relations to multi-channel execution. You will partner with internal teams to maximize the distribution of content via digital channels, including owned and paid channels. You will monitor our external reputation and engage with teams on programs and opportunities to improve it. You will also partner with our talent acquisition team to develop and implement approaches to effectively communicate about our company, our mission, and our culture to improve recruiting outcomes. Outcomes and Activities:
- Develop a comprehensive public relations strategy to enhance the company’s image and reputation as well as build our brand.
- Work with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to execute against the strategy.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure positive coverage.
- Craft press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to effectively communicate key company narratives and achievements.
- Develop and maintain key messaging documents and ensure spokespeople are prepared and media-trained for each opportunity.
- Develop thought leadership approach, supported by existing or sourced data, to position the company and its leaders as an expert in financial services.
- Monitor, analyze, and develop reporting on media coverage, industry trends, and competitor activities to inform communication strategies.
- Work with talent acquisition teams on plans to amplify our award-winning culture through distinct value propositions and activities that improve recruiting outcomes.
- Develop and maintain crisis communication plans, ensuring the organization is prepared to respond effectively to potential issues.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for various audiences.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and other teams within marketing.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- A proven track record of partnering with senior executives on message development, media training, and speaking opportunity preparation.
- Storytelling and narrative development to proactively develop areas of interest to external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of best practices for amplifying content via digital channels, including organic social media, other owned channels, and paid placements.
- Experience managing corporate reputation across a variety of channels, including digital channels.
- Analytical mindset with a track record of developing KPIs and reporting on metrics to a senior level audience.
- Experience managing agency partners and internal people.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or related field (or equivalent experience in key knowledge areas).
- Proven experience (10+ years) in a communications role with a focus on external public relations, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a PR agency.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a regulated industry preferred.
Targeted Compensation: $$170,000 - $195,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan
