Job description

Role: Safety Manager

Exempt

Your Impact

This remote role is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with legal regulations by monitoring practices, conducting training sessions, investigating accidents, and recommending improvements to maintain a safe working environment for all team members; you will actively work to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses by identifying and mitigating hazards. Due to recurring onsite visits at grow/processing facilities (currently six – PA, MD, MA, MI, WV, OR), need to be able to travel to sites up to 50% of the time. Helpful, but not required, to live within driving distance of one of the facilities.

  • Serve as the leader and subject matter expert on all aspects of ensuring a safe working environment for our team.
  • Develop, implement, train and coach team members, and monitor safety policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (OSHA, etc.).
  • Perform regular inspections, identifying hazards, and implementing risk-mitigation strategies in collaboration with the business leaders.
  • Design and lead training programs on proper procedures and hazard awareness.
  • Maintain policies, safety documentation, safety metrics and workplace incidents.
  • Foster open communication, collaborate with on-site teams, and ensure emergency procedures and equipment testing are up to date
