EHR Reporting Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY: 

• Design Reporting Metrics. Oversee the development of dashboards and reports to ensure metrics accurately represent and support Centennial’s goals. Extract, analyze, and present complex medical data from various healthcare systems into clear, concise reports that are used to meet Colorado State’s behavioral health reporting requirements and to inform decision-making within Centennial, focusing on client outcomes, operational efficiency, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Create Data Dashboards and make them available to key stakeholders. Collaborate with the Electronic Health Record Team to design, test, validate, and deploy new or existing datasets within or outside of the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Provide data to Centennial staff upon request.
• Utilize, design, and maintain APIs between EHR system and reporting software.
• Continuous Improvement. Learn new processes and find opportunities to gain efficiencies in the current environment.
• Work with minimal to moderate supervision from the Product Manager with an emphasis on independent decision-making and mission accomplishment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborates with the Product Manager to clarify requirements, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine the scope of data and reporting.
• Develops data analytics and BI applications in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements.
• Processes Colorado State’s reporting files, identifies and corrects errors, and submits files to the required agencies.
• Retrieves, processes, and corrects state reporting assessments, and uploads data to state agencies.
• Works with EHR/data teams and vendors to develop or select new software and/or equipment.
• Coordinates and completes any necessary data cleanup projects.
• Prepares and provides scheduled daily, weekly, or monthly reports and data to Centennial Staff and outside agencies.
• Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative working relationships with Centennial employees and outside agencies with which Centennial is involved.
• Responds to support requests, prioritizes requests, provides feedback to staff, and assists with errors or change requests.
• Develops, updates, and processes SQL databases. Develops necessary SQL queries and provides assistance to Centennials EHR team in developing of New or existing EHR projects. 
• Creates and analyzes statistical reports, and completes special projects as assigned.
• Writes and maintains clear and concise procedural documentation for current and new processes in modern agile document management system.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field. Extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of graduate level education.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, EXPERIENCE: 

• Minimum two to four years’ experience in report development and data analytics, preferably in a SQL environment, using report automation tools such as Crystal Reports or Tableau. 

 ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:

• SQL Report writing skills
• Python programming skills
• Advanced data manipulation, troubleshooting and critical skills
• Dashboarding tools like PowerBI or Tableau
• Knowledge of ETL & Data Warehousing
• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare. Knowledge of modern EHR structure and design.
• Ability to operate a variety of word-processing, database managers and report writing programs. 
• Understanding and Experience with HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory compliance requirements
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Strong interpersonal skills required
• Must be well organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to travel within the service area or to other locations as needed.
