The Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President of Global Marketing, the Head of Business Development will be a key player in our Marketing and Business Development team, driving our direct sales outbound strategy. In this role, you'll lead our Global Enterprise Business Development efforts, focusing on engaging, nurturing, and qualifying potential enterprise clients. Your primary goal is to generate interest in our enterprise platform while working closely with Sales leadership and Enterprise Account Executives. This position oversees our Global Enterprise Business Development team, managing teams both in the United States and internationally.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will,
- Develop strategies and execute plans to ensure that opportunity creation and pipeline goals are well defined, met, and exceeded.
- Hire, train, and mentor a team of Business Development Representatives while supporting the development of the existing team to achieve optimum performance as they support the sales team.
- Partner with Sales Enablement to coach the team on prospecting methods, using a combination of phone, email, social media, and direct mail to help build our sales pipeline by connecting with prospective customers, understanding their unique needs, and identifying the best way to position DoiT.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop key buyer personas for customers we target with both inbound and outbound messaging and strategies.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to execute and run integrated campaigns.
- Shape the ongoing strategy for the business development team from a long-term perspective to daily practical improvement.
- Find new ways to shorten the sales cycle and create a smooth connection between the BDR team and their respective sales teams.
- Set both quantitative and qualitative goals and targets for the team to hit business goals as well as support career development within the team.
- Work closely with the sales leadership team to provide thought leadership and strategic direction on our pipeline development, maturity, and quality.
- Understand and compile data, using it to support your strategic direction for the team.
- Clearly and concisely communicate key trends in data to your peers and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5 years of technology sales and Global Business Development experience, particularly within IT Service Management or SaaS environments
- 2-4 years of US domestic and preferably international management experience hiring, leading, developing and nurturing others in a successful BDR team setting
- Experience managing and developing a pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities within a CRM (Salesforce)
- Experience building outreach programs to drive robust organizations
- Understanding or previous experience working within the Public Cloud ecosystem (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, etc - and their related services) is preferred but not required
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
- A disciplined approach to daily activity planning, setting goals and achieving success
- Critical problem solving skills to handle customer questions and overcome objections
- An in-depth understanding of the lead management process from awareness to close; a strong command of sales operations and processes
- Proficiency with tools such as Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Google Suite, and sales related tools
- Management tracking and evaluating variable pay commissions and incentives
