Job Role


We are seeking a Part-Time Lactation Consultant (IBCLC Certified) up to 16 hours per week. In this role, you will provide expert guidance and education on breastfeeding, ensuring the health and well-being of mothers and their infants. You will be a part of a dedicated team committed to supporting families during this crucial period. This position reports to the Sr Director of Case Management.  

Requirements

Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Provide virtual lactation consultations. 
  • Offer evidence-based advice and support on breastfeeding techniques, latch issues, milk supply, and infant feeding. 
  • Educate mothers on proper breastfeeding practices and troubleshoot any challenges they may face. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of breastfeeding trends, research, and best practices. 
  • Document patient interactions, care plans, and progress notes accurately. 



Qualifications:

 

  • IBCLC certification is required.  
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing lactation support in a clinical or community setting. 
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for supporting mothers and babies. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases. 
  • Experience in virtual care or telehealth services is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and maintaining patient confidentiality. 
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable with excellent problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience with telephony applications and software required. 
  • Must be well organized and able to prioritize tasks. 
  • Must have good computer skills and be familiar with using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook Excel, etc). 
  • Must demonstrate accuracy in spelling and documentation.
