Job Summary/Job Purpose:

We seek a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to manage bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

You will connect with clients and vendors in this remote role, ensuring effective communication. Strong interpersonal skills are key to building successful relationships with a diverse group of clients, vendors, and team members.

Job Overview: Accounting Specialist - Part-time hourly with the potential to grow to full-time

  1. Maintain accurate financial records by performing bookkeeping tasks in QuickBooks Online along with other members of the accounting team.
  2. Process and track accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
  3. Handle accounts payable, including invoice processing and payment management.
  4. Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end closing.
  5. Prepare financial reports as needed.
  6. Work with leadership and the CPA team to ensure compliance with accounting best practices. 
  7. Set up new suppliers and maintain vendor records in QuickBooks Online.
  8. Onboard contractors and ensure proper documentation is collected.
  9. Provide administrative support to the finance and operations teams.

Skills / Qualifications:

  1. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, especially with numbers.
  2. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  3. Proficiency in using online platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Google Workspace, MS Office, Monday.com, and curiosity to learn additional online platforms.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, including building rapport and connections with teammates, clients, and vendors.
  5. Confident and experienced in using social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications.
  6. An aptitude for listening, solving problems, and responding flexibly and creatively to new challenges.
  7. In-progress  - university degree or equivalent experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
  8. Proficient with technology and adapting to a variety of online platforms.
  9. Excellent critical thinking and prioritization skills with multiple projects and tasks.
  10. Strong written and spoken communication skills in English (additional languages a plus).
  11. Track record of continuous improvement and proactive actions for personal and professional growth.
  12. Thrives working in a virtual environment.
