Job description

Synterex, Inc. is a global consortium of highly experienced clinical development professionals specializing in medical writing, submission publishing, and clinical science and operations support. Synterex offers remote or on-site services, with a focus on ensuring well-documented trials that exceed typical industry key performance indicators, from early drug development through post-approval.

 

Synterex is seeking an organized, motivated individual to provide a vision for our account and finance department. This individual would be responsible for the entire financial side of our company. You would be responsible for invoicing, collecting payments, the full employee lifecycle, budgeting, forecasting, and powering the client relationship.

The Senior Accounting Specialist reports to the Principal of Business Operations and also interacts regularly with members of the Executive Leadership Team.

Location: Fully remote. Must be able to attend key meetings virtually and communicate with staff during business hours in the U.S. Eastern Time Zone.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Auditing time entries to ensure they are assigned to the right projects and invoicing is accurate
  • Payroll management, including adding new employees and contractors, maintaining accurate banking records for our team, creating payments, and maintaining relationships with the different U.S. states we do business with
  • Overseeing Accounts Payable/Receivable, including creating invoices and estimates, reconciling payments, and ensuring timely invoice reconciliation
  • Onboarding new accounts into our systems and maintaining accurate account information
  • Balancing and reconciling corporate bank accounts along with categorizing transactions to ensure proper visibility and empower accurate tax filings
  • Budgeting and forecasting for our financial health and monitoring costs
  • Other tasks as needed and assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in biotechnology/CRO/pharmaceutical industry, specifically in invoicing/AP/AR, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Experienced with QuickBooks and Office 365; NetSuite experience preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Collaborative mindset
