Job Summary:

Takes a hands-on role in the execution of development and data management functions and will ensure high-quality development practices are followed and business needs are met on time, within budget. Responsible for providing input on technology selections for the UDA including data models, data manipulation, visualization/reporting tools, change control, project tracking, communication, business glossaries/metadata dictionaries, analytic inventories and any other software/hardware that impacts the services the team provides.

Job Duties:

  • Provides onboarding, training and mentoring to staff in alignment with achieving these objectives.
  • Works with senior leadership, operational and clinical departmental leaders, departmental analysts, and business strategy and development staff to collaborate and promote awareness and effective use of Unified Data Architecture resources.
  • Develops and contributes to projects, following the appropriate PMO process guidelines and ensuring tollgates are completed.
  • Tasks can include scoping, collecting requirements, valuation, testing, training, deployment activities, and post-go live assessmentsContributes to the development, implementation, and enforcement of enterprise data management standards and procedures.
  • Designs, collects, analyzes, and reports on the quality of data throughout the UDA.
  • Investigates and resolve data quality issues – may include identifying, assessing, fixing, documenting, and communicating potential quality issues to customers and stakeholders.
  • Works with source system data managers and stewards as well as operational and clinical leaders to understand source applications and processes and to identify and correct source system data quality issues.
  • Oversees and participates in support of production services including but not limited to troubleshooting; responding to requests for security access, new tables, or new objects; performing access audits; ensuring data stewardship compliance; and answering customer questions.
  • Provides quality assurance functions to all work.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of knowledge resources including online and in-person training programs, knowledge bases, FAQs, and inventories.
  • Monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots recurring processes including extractions, ETLs, datamarts, and reports.
  • Responsible for working with the team to develop, optimize, and manage data models and Hadoop metadata layers; ensure the performance and integrity of the associated ETL processes; develop, optimize and manage the necessary semantic and reporting layer.
  • Provides quality assurance oversight of new and existing data flows and stores including the review of data entry, loads, transformations, extractions, merges, and other production jobs.
  • Contributes to the Data Governance program to manage enterprise data assets.
  • Collaborates with data stewards, subject matter experts, and project sponsors in identifying and resolving data quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Provides input to the Manager and Director for annual budget preparation, operational and capital budgeting and ongoing evaluation and reporting of budget variances.
  • Assists with the evaluation, selection, implementation, and support of new technologies associated with business intelligence, data engineering, data management, and data governance.
