Job description

TL;DR:

Imubit is looking for a top-notch Refining and Petrochemical Process Optimization Engineer to help transcend process industries with breakthrough machine learning technology.

This role requires client travel throughout Europe and has a preference for spanish-speaking candidates. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.

We are looking for:

You, a Chemical Engineer, with an interest in new technology and plant optimization; previous experience in process engineering with controls or planning and economic knowledge is required. You want to be a part of what’s next in the industry using process optimization software and machine learning technology to solve core issues and redefine an industry. You aspire to be on a pioneering fast-growing team that works closely with clients to solve their difficult problems and provide them with proven economical results. In this position, you will:

  • Work directly with Imubit's founders and significantly impact company growth.
  • Collaborate with Imubit's world-leading Google-endorsed Machine Learning scientists
  • Work closely with client teams both remotely and on-site to leverage their data to explore the process and its economic drivers.
  • Combine process and machine learning to apply Imubit's system to the right points in the process and tune system parameters.
  • Evaluate Machine Learning models via chemical process understanding.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product’s usage patterns and shape its future roadmap in collaboration with algorithm, software and product teams.
  • Demonstrate and explain Imubit's technology to clients and train them to leverage it.
  • Understand client feedback and facilitate two-way communication with Imubit's R&D team.


Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BSc in Chemical Engineering
  • Background in chemical engineering or process engineering
  • 3-10 years of industry engineering experience (refining, petrochemical, NGL/ethanol, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (English required, Spanish is a plus)


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Process engineer with process control and/or planning and economics experience
  • Has a proven record of improving plant optimization, implementing plant optimization solutions with little to no capital expenditure
  • Has worked extensively with plant operations personnel
  • Has successfully led projects and implementations, managing project relationships from a technical standpoint
  • Has experience working with time-series data within recent work experience and knows how to visualize and analyze large volumes of data and make logical decisions
  • Ability to educate customers and build confidence in customers about highly technical concepts
  • Proven ability to work and remain organized in a fast-paced environment


Great to Have:

  • Has proven to take on new technologies and apply them at the plant level to extract operational value (revenue, reliability, etc.)
  • Has vision to see that there is a significant opportunity to improve how plants are optimized today. Is ready to tackle this problem head-on and educate others within the industry
  • Is highly resourceful and is able to solve problems using a limited toolset when required
  • Is able to learn at an exponential rate, educating the market and customers on a complex concept
  • Highly motivated to take on tough challenges and skeptics with a positive attitude
  • Experience in chemicals and/or other manufacturing processes
