As a Senior Business Analyst for PVFARM, our industry-leading solar design automation platform, you serve as the bridge between technical innovation and real-world application in utility-scale solar design. This role provides a significant opportunity for growth into product ownership, building on a strong analytical foundation. You'll collaborate with cross-functional product stakeholders to define and execute the future of solar design automation in our rapid growth phase, ensuring that our solutions continue to meet the evolving needs of utility-scale solar developers, engineers, EPCs, and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Product Support
• Lead requirements gathering and analysis with solar developers, engineers, and EPCs to identify pain points in utility-scale solar design workflows
• Create functional specifications and user stories that translate complex solar design requirements into actionable development tasks
• Collaborate with Product Managers to track market trends in solar design tools, construction methods, industry standards, and regulations affecting product direction
• Perform competitor and market analyses to reveal opportunities and gaps for new product features
• Partner with customer success teams to collect quantitative data on how PVFARM's automation features affect design timelines and efficiency
• Develop ROI models and clear value propositions for new feature proposals
• Prioritize automation opportunities based on industry impact, technical feasibility, and strategic alignment
Growing Product Ownership
• Contribute to product backlog prioritization, aligning critical features with industry needs and technical feasibility
• Work with solar engineering teams to facilitate user acceptance testing, gathering feedback on automation accuracy and usability
• Provide data-driven insights regarding user behavior, design tool efficiency gains, and market opportunities to inform product strategy
• Take on ownership of specific PVFARM modules, balancing technical capabilities with user needs in the solar design domain
• Translate complex engineering workflows into automation opportunities, balancing feasibility with optimal user experience
• Identify and scope integration opportunities with complementary tools in the solar development ecosystem
• Represent PVFARM at industry events and user groups to track solar design trends and gather market intelligence
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2–3 years of Business Analysis experience in technical software products, SaaS experience preferred
• Demonstrated interest in product ownership (e.g., feature ownership, project leadership)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex technical workflows
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
• Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with product roadmap planning and strategy
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in solar, renewable energy, or civil engineering industries
• Familiarity with utility-scale solar design principles and workflows
• Some experience leading sprint planning or backlog grooming sessions
• Familiarity with CAD software, GIS tools, or other engineering design automation platforms
• Experience with engineering workflow automation or parametric design tools
• Knowledge of solar energy modeling software (PVsyst, SAM, etc.)
• Understanding of utility interconnection processes and requirements
• Experience working with APIs and software integrations
