T-Rex Solutions is looking to select a Cloud Engineer to support the US Department of the Treasury TCloud enterprise cloud development effort. This effort aims to facilitate holistic multi-cloud solutions to meet the Department of Treasury’s enterprise-wide infrastructure needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and designing cloud solutions (within AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI) and designing/building solutions, and processes to deploy, operate, and maintain resilient secure Cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design cloud solutions (within AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI) and Design/build solutions, and processes to deploy, operate, and maintain resilient secure Cloud environments to enable development teams to deliver features in the most efficient way possible.
- Operate and maintain cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (Iac) and SRE principles.
- Maintenance and ongoing development of automation and continuous build/integration/deployment infrastructure for multiple environments; write, build and deploy scripts.
- Enable observability and resilience throughout multi-cloud landing zones and Dev/Test/Prod environments.
- Support implementation of security policies, standards, guidelines, and governance.
- Continuously assess, onboard, and enable new FedRAMP cloud services using security best practices for IAM and networking.
- Optimize cloud performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategies with business objectives
Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and at least 4 years' experience
- Proven background working in cloud environments with experience and knowledge in 4 or more of the following areas:
- Agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban
- Agile collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, Artifactory)
- CSPs including Azure, AWS, or OCI
- Containerization and container management with Kubernetes and Helm
- Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation
- Git, branching strategies, GitFlow and/or GitHub Flow
- Cloud high availability and scalability best practices and architectures
- Disaster Recovery planning and implementation in cloud environments
Desired:
- Professional cloud certifications from multiple cloud service providers (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect)
- Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures
- Familiarity with federal government compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST, Cloud Smart Strategy, etc.)
- Experience with Zero Trust architecture principles and implementation in cloud environments.
- Active Treasury clearance preferred
