Job description

About CSG

CSG is a multinational organisation headquartered in the United States with several thousand employees in countries around the world.

We’re a SaaS platform company that helps some of the world’s most recognizable brands solve their toughest business challenges. Our innovative solutions and trusted experts enable companies to create customer experiences that set them apart.

Our product & team

This role is within the team that develops CSQ Quote & Order, a cutting-edge order management and quoting platform. Built using the latest tech, our platform modernizes industries like telecommunications and banking.

We promote a collaborative culture where everyone’s contributions are valued, and diversity is celebrated. We prioritize continuous learning and improvement to keep our product competitive, and to ensure CSG remains an exciting place to work.

Due to growing demand from high-profile customers, our team is expanding in 2025 and that's where you come in!

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced technical writer who can work closely with our software engineering teams to produce engaging. concise, accurate, consistent – and most of all, useful – documentation to help our customers and partners use our platform and integrate with our systems. You’ll value precise, direct and fuss-free language that gets the message across as succinctly and clearly as possible.

You’ll take a hands-on approach to writing documents by making sure you step through every part of the user journey yourself to understand exactly what information your documentation needs to convey, and to uncover any issues with our software that might get in the way of customers’ success.

If you’re our ideal candidate, you’ll have worked with OpenAPI schemas and be able to make API calls using tools such as Postman and Bruno. You’ll also be familiar with checking out code using Git and running CLI commands to connect to our environments.

What you will do:

While your responsibilities will evolve, here’s what you’ll dive into:

  • Systems Integration documentation: Work alongside our development teams to produce step-by-step procedures for integrating with our platform, as well as documents that define and contextualize what each part of our code is used for.
  • User manuals and task guides: Guide our users on the path to success by helping them perform tasks within our often complex software, and to understand where those tasks sit in the context of their user journeys.
  • API documentation: Translate our API functionality into easy-to-follow instructions for writing API requests and understanding responses.
  • Feature documentation: Provide an in-depth guide to new and existing features including their industry context and best-practise usage.
  • Release notes: Highlight the new features and improvements within each platform release and help users understand how these features and improvements might benefit them.

Is this opportunity right for you?

We’re all about diverse skills and experiences, so even if you don’t tick every box, we encourage you to apply!

We’re looking for:

  • A curious mind: Someone who wants to know how things work and is not afraid to get hands-on with our products, and to ask questions and pursue clarity when something doesn’t make sense. (If you can figure out how to break something so we can improve it, that’s even better!)
  • A sense of ownership: A committed individual who takes full responsibility for their documentation, making informed decisions to drive it to success.
  • Team spirit: An empathetic person with the ability to establish rapport with our development and solutions teams across multiple locations.
  • Discipline and urgency: A focused multitasker who ensures every project is delivered with purpose and urgency.
  • A passion for great documentation: A motivated individual who understands the role that good documentation plays in helping internal teams and end users achieve their goals.

If this sounds like you, let’s create excellent documentation together!

Employee benefits

  • Work from anywhere: CSG’s Flexibility First policy allows employees to work from wherever they feel most productive. The Quote & Order team does not maintain a dedicated office space, so your position will be 100% remote with the exception of several in-person workshops during the year (in Bali – see below – and Melbourne).
  • Twice-yearly workshops in Bali: Twice a year the whole Quote & Order team gets together at a resort in Bali, Indonesia for dedicated in-person time including team presentations, hackathon sessions, training and team-building activities.
  • Paid volunteer days: Everyone at CSG gets two paid days per year to volunteer at a community organisation of their choice.
