Job Title: Lead Occupational Therapist
Location: Remote, work from home - MUST reside in Australia
Reports To: Clinical Director

Role Summary:
The Lead Occupational Therapist is responsible for leading the occupational therapy team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered services. This role includes clinical supervision, content and business development, and direct patient care.

As a team lead, you will continue to manage a patient caseload and deliver clinical sessions to ensure that you maintain current clinical knowledge while also having sufficient time to oversee and support your team effectively.

XRHealth seek a registered and suitably experienced occupational therapist with a positive and proactive attitude about engaging with their team, wants to help people to grow and develop towards their goals, is passionate about the work they do, and to help reduce barriers or problems to service engagement and delivery. The role may require additional tasks as identified and reasonable as the occupational therapist team grows.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead clinician:  Clinical Leadership

• Provide leadership and oversight to the occupational therapy team, ensuring adherence to best practices and Australian healthcare standards.
• Provide mentorship through individual supervision to support therapists in their clinical practice, including decision-making and professional development.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate clinical supervision with OT/clinical team for case consultation and clinical professional development.
• Maintain oversite of risk/complex patients and management for their team and provide regular updates to the Clinical Director.
• Contribute to streamlining clinical processes and procedures.

Compliance and Quality Assurance of Clinical Administration:
• Ensure all services comply with Australian standards and regulations, including those set by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
• Create and implement resources and report templates for use by the occupational therapy team.

Business Development and Clinical Performance
• Engage with current team members to review and validate current clinical efficiency and processes.
• Oversee overall clinical performance both with patients and with clinicians including provision and quality of services.
• Engage with the product and development team about VR technology provided by XRHealth.
• Content creation for XRHealth to reach our audience through webinars, blogs, etc.
• Capacity to create and facilitate group interventions, if interested.
• Capacity to design and implement programs to expand the scope and quality of occupational therapy services, particularly for NDIS participants.
• Represent the organisation in community events and professional networks to promote occupational therapy and the organisation's services.

Clinician role: Patient Engagement and Clinical Role
• Conduct comprehensive virtual assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs using telehealth platforms.
• If relevant, evaluate patients' home environments remotely to identify potential hazards and recommend modifications or adaptive equipment.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop personalised treatment plans, with an emphasis on functional outcomes.
• Deliver direct therapy services, utilising evidence-based practices and VR to achieve patient goals.
• Work collaboratively with other departments and external partners to integrate multidisciplinary approaches into patient care.
• Assess and manage complex and risk patients in line with XRHealth policies and procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, in compliance with Australian healthcare regulations.

Professional Development:
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in telehealth technology, treatment approaches, and regulatory changes and in line with professional registration requirements.
• Maintain AHPRA registration without restrictions.
