General Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to lead the regions buildings and teams to perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities affecting the pulmonary system. This is a regional role and will require travel within South Carolina between buildings.

Essential Duties:

  • Receive and follow schedules/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the established policies and procedures of the facilities to which the respiratory care practitioner is assigned.
  • Perform focused interviews to identify specific patients’ needs.
  • Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiological and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data and information from healthcare members and document actual and/or potential diagnoses.
  • Plan for outcomes of care for assigned patients.
  • Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and hospital policies.
  • Provide respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic services as ordered by physicians.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions and treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require travel within the assigned region.
  • Work is performed in a healthcare setting, which may include exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
