The impact you will make:

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Senior Manager, Commercial Training, to join our Commercial Execution and Operations team. The Senior Manager, Commercial Training will be responsible for supporting the execution and implementation of the Commercial Training Plan supporting our mission, vision, and key business priorities. The Sr. Manager of Commercial Training will support the development and delivery of various Commercial Training initiatives supporting the Market Access department. Agios’ Market Access department includes team members in National Accounts & Distribution and the Patient Access and Support Program which consists of Patient Support Managers (PSM) and Clinical Nurse Educators (CNE) teams. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, execute key tactics against critical ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.

What you will do:

Needs Assessment and Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with Market Access leadership to identify skill gaps within each team’s core competencies, including areas such as customer engagement, CRM system implementation, product and disease knowledge, account management, and negotiation skills.
  • Develop and deliver training materials in a multifaceted approach to enhance organizational execution and support Market Access strategy.
  • Collaborate with PSM/CNE Managers to ensure key SOP / Work Instruction (WI)/ Job Aid (JA) standards match job roles and responsibilities and are adjusted with appropriate approvals.
  • Manage and administrate the LMS System (Compliance Wire) for the Market Access organization including uploading and testing content, creating user groups and managing reporting within the system.
  • Supervise and track completion of all Market Access team training courses, including credentialing, licensing requirements and pharmacovigilance.
  • Support the ongoing development, implementation, review, and revision of all Market Access training materials ensuring the most recent version is active and being used.

Design and Execute Training Events:

  • Support the new hire Market Access onboarding process for CNEs, DNAs, PSMs and CNE/PSM managers.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to identify and prioritize Market Access objectives for POA, Launch, and Market Access Meetings, and to design and deliver training that addresses these needs effectively.
  • Manage and coordinate all logistical support for both virtual and in-person training events, including POA, Launch, and Market Access meetings.
  • Facilitate both live and virtual training and informal/formal presentations to Market Access leadership, internal and field teams.
  • Design and deliver train-the-trainer programs to ensure consistent execution of training content.

Collaborate and Communicate:

  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships within the Agios organization to promote collaboration and teamwork.
  • Acts as project lead for ongoing training initiatives.
  • Work closely with internal and external resources to identify needs and develop or acquire content and solutions
  • Serve as a project manager to support key initiatives across the Market Access organization, ensuring progress and impact by leveraging synergies, identifying interdependencies, and preventing duplication of efforts.
  • Develop processes for capturing, cataloging, and disseminating key lessons learned from initiatives, with a view toward helping propagate best practices throughout the organization.
  • Work at a strategic level with Market Access and Commercial Execution leaders to drive consistency and alignment between strategic priorities and communications to Market Access team.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8+ years in pharma/biotech industry, rare disease experience preferred
  • 5-7 years within commercial organization of pharma/biotech, preference for patient/nurse support and market access experience
  • 3-4 years of experience in Learning and Development/Training; preference for patient services or market access training.
  • Strong understanding of the prescription access process, navigation of health care systems, insurance plans, payer trends, and internal/external patient and financial assistance programs
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting pharmaceutical specialty products specifically related to Market Access teams/programs.
  • Possess a process-oriented mindset to ensure Training records and procedures are kept compliant
  • Solid project management skills, vendor management and results orientation.
  • Experience administrating a Learning Management System.
  • A strong team player that has a partnership and collaboration mindset and is solution oriented.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Work Location:

Location Agnostic: Work location for this role is based on employee's individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite and hybrid employees are expected to live within commutable distance to our Cambridge Headquarters. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events/ meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate to the above job description..
