Location: We are remote-first. This role can be based in most states in the US. 

The Opportunity

Mosaic’s Accounting Manager will fulfill an important role on the Accounting team in a mission based company. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this full time position will be a leadership position on the accounting team managing Staff and Senior Accountants.

Your day-to-day

  • Oversee the activities of a loan accounting team with two direct reports, ensuring accurate booking of general ledger entries, reviewing journal entries, and managing loan subledgers for all loan-related activities, while also focusing on talent development, engagement, and retention.
  • Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes by completing assigned tasks in a timely manner, staying current on checklists, and providing regular status updates.
  • Support audit requests by providing thorough documentation and explanations for loan accounting entries, collaborating with auditors to address inquiries and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure financial integrity within a robust control environment, supporting all accounting activities with strong documentation practices and adherence to internal controls.
  • Perform controls over loan accounting processes, including variance analysis and detailed discussions on business drivers to provide insights into financial performance.
  • Continuously improve and streamline financial reporting procedures, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners such as Treasury, Capital Markets, and Risk teams to support financial initiatives and ensure alignment on key accounting activities

What you bring to the team 

  • BS in Accounting / BS in Business with major in Accounting
  • Minimum 4 years experience performing loan accounting functions.
  • Financial services industry, consumer lending or specialty finance industry experience 
  • CPA required, public accounting experience preferred 
  • Advanced understanding of ASC 310 Receivables, ASC 606 Revenue, ASC 810 Consolidation, ASC 835 Interest, ASC 860 Transfers and Servicing
  • Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, logic formulas, vlookup, sum functions)
  • Knowledge and experience of ERP systems. 
  • Ambitious, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, project management, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient in ambiguous situations and a fast paced, changing environment
  • Excellent cross group collaboration skills 

Bonus Points

  • Experience in Oracle financials preferred
  • Passionate about the renewable energy space

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
