Job Summary

Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Vice President, BD to lead the company’s business development effort. This role leads the BD, Strategic Account Management (SAM), Task Management, Capture, and MARCOM functions throughout the entire Business Development Life Cycle. The VP, BD coordinates with Operations, Proposal Operations, Contracts, and Finance to facilitate and drive growth. The VP BD is the execution sponsor for Obsidian’s Cornerstone Plan which is designed to drive exponential growth. 

  

Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee Obsidian Strategic Accounts in Nuclear Enterprise Services (DTRA, NNSA, DOE, etc.); and Training Enterprise Services (USMC, US Army, USAF, and USN) 
  • Manage Obsidian’s overall BD Pipeline that supports growth in domains our capabilities reside: Enterprise Information Technology, Training and Readiness, and Intelligence Community.
  • Coordinate where appropriate and lead executive level and internal business reviews (i.e., Monthly Growth Reviews, Weekly Growth Meetings, Operations Updates (participate); Monthly readiness Meetings, and Weekly Activity Reports)  
  • Manage BD tools required to provide data analysis to support executive leadership’s Dashboards. 
  • Lead Pipleine capture process, support, and guidance to both organic and strategic opportunity capture. 
  • Lead Task Order Management (Portfolio Management) for GWACs, IDIQs, BICs to include but limited to: OASIS, STARS, DIA SITE III, AEMSS, SeaportE/NxG, etc.
  • Executive sponsor and leader for customer engagement strategies for all pursuits to improve and lead opportunity qualification.
  •  Leader in increasing Customer Value (CV) by astute capture planning (Capture Scorecard) and enhancing customer intimacy.
  • Lead the Obsidian Gate Review process and all tenets contained in the Obsidian BD Guide (based on Industry Best Practices for BD [e.g., Shipley]
  • Collaborate with VP Operations to ensure BD targets align with operation lines of business and P&L objectives.
  • Work in collaboration with Proposal Operations to ensure business intelligence, customer intel, competitive Intel is provided to support proposal excellence.
  • Coordinate with Finance for Price to Win and Pricing Strategies to support winning.


Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 15 or more years’ experience leading business development or growth organizations in DoD, IC, Federal space. 
  • Direct experience in DTRA, DIA, and DoD is a plus

  • Up to 10% - 20% - Required to travel within the continental United States up to four times annually.
