Job Description

This job is responsible for investigating, negotiating, and settling first party litigated property claims.  This individual works closely with legal counsel, claims leadership and others to resolve claims. Experience with first party property litigation claims is expected.

A day in the life of an Inside Litigation Property Adjuster 

  • Researches and responds to complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues 
  • Summarizes documents and enters into claim system notes 
  • Investigates, reviews, determines and verifies complex coverage/policy information 
  • Completes errors and omissions coverage investigation 
  • Manages complex claim files in litigation, including managing cases in mediation or arbitration (non-subrogation), negotiating out-of-court settlements on files in litigation, and reviewing defense attorney letters, litigation plans and strategy 
  • Reviews files and makes recommendations to refer files to Home Office for escalation 
  • Conducts subrogation investigations 
  • Negotiates and settles claims in accordance with business unit best practices 
  • Prepares damage estimate and organizes and reconciles bills 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Have 5+ years of property claims investigative experience 
  • Have prior experience managing complex property claims 
  • Have interacted with attorneys, including discussions involving coverage or denials, evaluation of claims, and claim dispositions 
  • Have prior experience using estimating software like Xactimate 
  • Value providing an effortless customer service experience 
  • Have a strong background in negotiation and conflict management 
  • Are organized, successful at time management and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
  • Are known for clear and professional communication – both written and verbal 
  • This position is not available to Alaska, California, Hawaii or Washington residents

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $56,500.00 - 99,962.50 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
