McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational materials, is looking for a creative, innovative, strategic Associate Academic Designer, Health for our 6-12 Health programs. Does this sound like you?
As part of our PreK-12 business, you’ll be part of a team that creates robust digital tools, curriculum and learning solutions in a variety of formats that are used by millions of educators and students every day. The Associate Academic Designer for 6-12 Health is a content and curriculum expert, responsible and accountable for assembling high-quality content based on specific product requirements for 6-12 Health programs.
As an Associate Academic Designer, you will work with the Senior Academic Designer to plan and develop instructional materials for digital health products, including but not limited to student and teacher materials, interactive activities, worksheets, assessments, and teacher lesson plans.
It will be filled as a
Project Status Worker (PSW) designation.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
What you will be doing:
- Planning and developing content (including scope and sequence, tables of contents, student lessons, and teacher resources) for digital products
- Preparing manuscript, ensuring accuracy, readability, and grade-appropriateness in accordance with project specifications
- Correlating educational materials to national and state health standards and frameworks
- Working in a Content Management System to assemble and produce educational content
- Working on digital products with tasks such as metadata tagging, concept mapping, and digital editing
- Completing art and photo requisition forms
- Monitoring and evaluating pedagogical and content area research and trends
- Editing, tracking, and reviewing manuscript and digital products through development cycle
- Following approved workflows at all stages and meeting all project schedules
- Collaborating with fellow team members about project progress and developing solutions to address issues
- Communicating project requirements to authors, consultants, vendors, and freelance editors
What you need to be considered:
- Bachelor's degree in a Health or Biological Science field with a focus on digital publishing
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, which include a thorough command of the English language, spelling, writing, and grammar and a strong attention to detail.
- The successful candidate must be able to be productive, exercise efficient work habits and have the ability to prioritize, multitask, and exhibit flexibility.
- The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment.
- The successful candidate must be organized and be able to manage their time effectively.
- Experience writing and editing instructional materials for use in health classrooms strongly preferred.
- Experience working with digital curriculum development, digital authoring tools, and content management systems preferred.

The pay range for this position is between $50,000 - $55,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
