Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Records Management Specialist to be based in Sacramento, CA. This role is open for remote work. 

SUMMARY: 

The records management specialist will work closely with the environmental compliance database manager to enter data in the Authority’s proprietary environmental compliance database management system, Environmental Mitigation and Management Application (EMMA). This individual will analyze and enter the Authority’s environmental commitments as documented in the Mitigation, Monitoring, and Reporting Plan and regulatory permits into EMMA and ensure that the application is updated with any amendments to the regulatory permits. The records management specialist will also support compliance implementation, documentation, and reporting for project sections under construction, and assist with the review and correction of environmental documents submitted into EMMA by the Project and Construction Management (PCM) team and contractors. Currently, project construction spans 119 miles in the Central Valley and is expected to expand to 170 miles from Merced to Bakersfield.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Receive assignments from the environmental compliance database manager
  • Coding environmental commitments from environmental and permit approval documents into EMMA
  • Assist with the review of environmental documents
  • Assist with updating EMMA with any permit amendments
  • Assist with document controls in SharePoint and other applications
  • Assist with construction-phase compliance reporting

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with major State and federal environmental laws including CEQA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, endangered species acts, Porter-Cologne, lake/streambed alteration agreements
  • Experience in construction compliance tracking, documentation, reporting
  • Experience with large, complex environmental programs
  • Familiarity with data entry and complex databases
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to work independently
