Job Purpose/Summary:
The Compliance Director of Human Rights and Responsible Sourcing will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s human rights and responsible sourcing policies and programs. This role requires a strategic leader who can ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, drive ethical practices throughout the supply chain, and foster a culture of social responsibility and continuous improvement. The Compliance Director will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain relationships, mitigate risks, and ensure that the company’s operations align with its commitment to human rights and ethical sourcing.
This position is based onsite in Springdale, Arkansas, and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements. Relocation assistance may be available.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Strategic Planning and Policy Development
- Develop and Implement Policies: Create and enforce policies that ensure ethical sourcing and respect for human rights throughout the supply chain.
- Strategic Planning: Develop long-term strategies for human rights and responsible sourcing that align with the company's values and goals.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the organization complies with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to human rights and responsible sourcing. Identify and mitigate risks associated with these areas.
2.Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, NGOs, industry groups, and government bodies, to promote responsible sourcing and human rights.
- Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure they understand and adhere to the company's standards for human rights and responsible sourcing.
3.Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor Compliance: Oversee audits and assessments of suppliers to ensure compliance with human rights and responsible sourcing policies.
- Reporting: Develop and manage reporting mechanisms to track progress and report on human rights and responsible sourcing initiatives. Communicate findings to senior management and other stakeholders.
4.Incident Management and Resolution
- Address Violations: Lead the response to any reported violations of human rights or responsible sourcing policies, ensuring thorough investigations and appropriate corrective actions.
5.Advocacy and Innovation
- Advocate for Change: Advocate for improved industry standards and practices related to human rights and responsible sourcing.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and innovations in responsible sourcing and human rights, and integrate these into the organization's practices.
6.Collaboration with Other Departments
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility, to ensure a cohesive approach to human rights and responsible sourcing.Bottom of Form
Requirements:
Education/Certifications: A bachelor's degree in business administration, law, human rights, international relations, sustainability, supply chain management, or a related field
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in building and leading global Human Rights and Responsible Sourcing Programs in multi-national companies.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels of the organization.
Travel: 25%, could grow over time
Preferred Experience/ Skills: Master’s degree, Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or certificates in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability.
