About the role:

The Publishing Operations team coordinates and implements operational changes across the Research Publishing portfolio, focusing on optimization at scale. The Journal Operations Coordinator plays a key role in supporting large projects and routine tasks, ensuring all requests are accurately actioned, typically from internal colleagues. They follow best practices, assess urgency, and seek opportunities to improve processes. The coordinator is essential to the standardization and optimization of operations, working across regions and teams, and reports to a Senior Manager within Publishing Operations.

How you will make an impact:

  • Swiftly process operational requests in accordance with defined best practice according to communicated deadlines.
  • Perform downstream activities, such as updates to journal homepages and editorial contact data, as needed to centralize operational functions across the portfolio.
  • Coordinate updates of title level data in central management information systems.
  • Observe, review, and analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and areas where improvements could be made.
  • Assist in efforts to implement programs across the Research business at scale that enhance our journal portfolios and reduce time and costs for the business.
  • Assist with reporting needs at team and project levels. Will provide administrative support in any data audits as required.

  • Have previous experience (or interest in learning) working in Salesforce.
  • Have an interest in learning how to work in our product data system, STEP.
  • Have experience working within established processes with a moderate degree of supervision.
  • Have an interest in journal publishing administration and operations.
  • Are highly collaborative with good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Are a team player, someone who is personable and able to form relationships.
  • Have experience using standard office systems, including Microsoft 360.
  • Have excellent English language skills (spoken, written, and reading). Ability to communicate clearly to different audiences.
