What you’ll need to succeed as a Region Director of Sales at XPO

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience
  • 7 years of outside sales and/or business-to-business sales experience
  • Experience in transportation industry sales with success in meeting sales goals
  • Experience in a sales supervisory or management role
  • Available to work evenings and weekends, as necessary
  • A valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) Industry
  • Experience with advanced sales reporting tools such as SFDC, BI, etc.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

  • Perform as the sales leader in an assigned region, represent upper management and communicate direction to your team
  • Support sales and operations with growing of revenue and profit for all assigned accounts within the region
  • Train, teach, coach and mentor new sales hires with tailored development plans; help retain experienced and effective sales workforce in conjunction with operations
  • Understand the industrial makeup and business activity within your geographic region; maintain current knowledge of the competition and their locations, scope of service, pricing actions and competitive strengths and weaknesses
  • Utilize reporting tools provided though Salesforce.com, Business Intelligence (BI), etc., to monitor progress, research trends and revenue, and partner with operations and leadership on developing corrective strategies to achieve company goals
  • Follow guidance from specific KPIs and reports, ensuring all operations leaders are trained on the use of oneCRM and sales reporting (i.e. “The Stack) to derive insights on performance
  • Develop and maintain multi-level customer relationships to uncover specific needs and behaviors of key decision makers
  • Coordinate appropriate market entertainment events to drive increased revenue and profit
  • Foster a partnership with operations and leadership to ensure a strong line of communication and collaboration; work in tandem with leadership on goals, customer concerns and client strategies
  • Manage and effectively lead employees through pricing initiatives and escalations
  • Collaborate with pricing leadership on key priorities to drive revenue and profit growth within the region
  • Conduct ride alongs quarterly, closely tied to closed won deals and target accounts
  • Meet with operations quarterly and as needed to review performance, concerns and key opportunities
  • Work to troubleshoot challenges with growing revenue in market, specific customers or other obstacles to growth

Employees are paid within a salary range based on their experience, skill set, and market.

Colorado annual salary range: $148,946 to $186,183

New York annual salary range: $156,039 to $195,048

California annual salary range: $163,131 to $203,914

Washington State annual salary range: $156,039 to $195,048

Actual compensation may vary due to factors such as experience and skill set (e.g., if an applicant far exceeds the minimum and preferred qualifications for the role).
