About the role

As the Engineering Manager for the Blockchain team at Paxos, you will play a critical role in leading and shaping our blockchain technology efforts. You will bring your strong background in blockchain technologies and process-oriented leadership to guide our team through crucial technology choices, strategic direction, and operational excellence.

What you’ll do

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of blockchain engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of blockchain solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, operations, and other engineering teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
Drive the technical vision and roadmap for the blockchain engineering team, staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.
Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of blockchain applications and infrastructure.
Establish and enforce best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.
Manage resource allocation, budget planning, and project prioritization to optimize team productivity and project outcomes.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members to build a strong and cohesive engineering team.

About you

Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering with a focus on blockchain technologies.
At least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or management role within an engineering team.
Strong understanding of blockchain protocols, cryptographic principles, consensus algorithms, and decentralized applications (dApps).
Proficiency with blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, or similar.
Experience with smart contract development and related languages (e.g., Solidity, Vyper).
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for blockchain deployment and maintenance.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for blockchain deployments.
Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards relevant to blockchain technology.
Contributions to open-source blockchain projects or active participation in the blockchain community.
