Your missions

The Senior Employee Experience (EX) Designer at our company is a pivotal role that orchestrates employee experience optimization across the Fortive enterprise and its unique Operating Companies. This individual will apply UX design expertise and innovative EX/IDE strategies to design and prototype integrated solutions across culture, people, processes, and technologies that foster a highly engaging and inclusive work environment. They will lead with insight and empathy, leveraging our proprietary Fortive Business System tools to drive continuous improvement and champion a culture that values employee experience (EX) and inclusive, diversity, and equity (IDE) as key drivers of business success. The role sits within Fortive Corporate’s Inclusive Growth Culture and People Enablement Center of Excellence (COE) and reports to the Senior Director of EX/IDE.

  • Evolve FTV’s enterprise-wide EX/IDE measurement strategy and reporting mechanisms to facilitate more meaningful and responsive action on gaps across the employee lifecycle, both on an enterprise and local Operating Company (OpCo) level. This will be done in collaboration with FTV’s Talent Analytics COE.
  • Analyze initial EX/IDE results to identify critical enterprise-wide gaps and conduct further research to determine root cause using key UX principles and methods.
  • Develop recommended solutions to close identified enterprise-wide EX/IDE gaps, which may span across people strategies and/or broader operational processes and technologies.
  • Create memos for senior HR and business stakeholders that summarize EX/IDE insights and solution proposals for discussion and debate.
  • Partner with appropriate stakeholders (Fortive Corporate or local OpCos) to codesign and test EX/IDE solution prototypes against defined KPIs. Should be able to apply formal human-centered design methodology and flex between a leader and participant role, depending on the situation.
  • Provide current state EX/IDE insights to help facilitate prioritization of talent initiatives throughout the year as part of Lean Portfolio Management (LPM). Insights should include considerations related to existing complexities of internal and external business environment and emerging market/industry trends to enable strategic and balanced action.
  • Serve as a EX/IDE subject-matter expert and consult on enterprise-wide process and technology changes / enhancements (within and outside of Talent) from a human and equity-centered design perspective.
  • Partner with OpCo Fortive Business System Leaders / continuous improvement champions to problem-solve high-profile EX/IDE issues localized at the OpCo level, as needed.
  • Upskill OpCo Fortive Business System Leaders / continuous improvement champions on EX/IDE theories and frameworks and how to apply them in existing problem-solving tools and processes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (Fortive Corporate or local OpCos) to codesign and prototype innovative solutions against defined EX/IDE KPIs and/or execute enhancements to existing processes or tools

Basic Qualifications

  • Formal certification in UX and/or human-centered design thinking.
  • 8+ years or relevant years of experience in a UX or human-centered design focused role within a company or in a consulting capacity.
  • Deep expertise in foundational principles of employee experience and IDE across people, process, and technology and corresponding best-practices.
  • Strong skills in research, strategic thinking, facilitation, cross-collaboration, and senior stakeholder comms.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, if needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Lean Portfolio Management
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and/or SaaS environments; interest in Smart Factories
  • Education in industrial and organizational psychology
  • Happy working in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in generative AI

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 99,700.00 - 185,000.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location. The Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and several programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
