Mathematica’s Health Solutions Insights (HSI) team is looking for a Resource Manager to work in any of our offices or remotely. Under the guidance of the Director of Resource Management, the Resource Manager leads staffing and performance management within the division. They are responsible and accountable for managing the supply and demand of talent, skills, and capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with HSI practice leaders and client partners on staffing utilization and forecasting.
  • Contribute to best practices for managing talent, forecasting future growth to meet staffing needs, and collaborate with HR on recruitment and performance management.
  • Supervise a portion the division’s talent ensuring adequate staffing, career development opportunities and performance management to include providing feedback and writing and delivering performance appraisals.
  • Maximize staff utilization by connecting staff to the right projects, increasing cross-team resource sharing and minimizing needs for external contractors or consultants.
  • Deploy available staff to client-facing business or business development opportunities to ensure on the job learning.
  • Along with the Director of Resource Management, support senior directors in identifying needed skills and capabilities to carry out work.
  • Drive creative staffing and performance solutions to meet business challenges.
  • Provide staff support throughout their onboarding process and career development.
  • Utilize reporting tools and data to actively monitor staff utilization, client and practice alignment, and work assignments.
  • Manage and resolve complex staffing or performance problems.
  • Work collaboratively across technology and research and advisory services teams.
  • Actively support the advancement of organizational diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, and apply diversity, equity and inclusion lens across job responsibilities.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, management, business administration, organizational development, economics, computer science, or other related field; equivalent working experience can be substituted
  • 7 years’ experience working in a products or service delivery area
  • 7 years’ experience working as a resource manager, project manager, HR manager or project or organizational consultant
  • Experience with talent development, resource management and supply and demand management
  • Experience in a technical discipline such as analytics, data science, data management, software engineering, etc.
  • Deep experience communicating effectively with non-technical and technical audiences, across an organization
  • Skills in analytic and problem-solving
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Experience building and leading teams
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment on a fast-moving, growing team

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $100,000 - $135,000. This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance. To apply, please submit a cover letter (optional), resume, location preference, and salary expectations.

Staff in our Health unit will eventually work with our largest client, Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS). Most staff working on CMS contracts will be required to complete a successful background investigation including the Questionnaire for Public Trust Position SF-85 (https://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/sf85p.pdf). Staff that are unable to successfully undergo the background investigation will need to be able to obtain work outside CMS. Staff will work with their supervisor to get re-staffed, however if they are unable to do so it may result in employment termination due to lack of work.
